Sons do Brasil!

Good news for friends of Brazil, Brazilian music and the Portuguese language. Brighton-based record label Mr Bongo has released a clampshell box with 5 double A-side vinyl singles of Brazilian pop music of the late Sixties/early Seventies. 10 funk-psyche-break-beat Brazilian nuggets, as they put it.

This quintuple 45s boxset includes ten artists, such as The Modern Tropical Quintet, Manito, Marisa Rossi (Deixa eu te amar) and (the inimitably – and most aptly – named) Toni Tornado (O Jornaleiro). The singles are pressed to sound extra loud.

The tracks were selected by well-known Brighton DJ Matt Ford, better known as DJ Format. The package is handsomely designed, the music is a perfect antidote to the moronic tediousness of contemporary globalist pop music.
